Homer H. Downing, 83, of 9961 Goddard Road, Portland, died Tuesday following a 
long illness.

He was a former real estate agent in Ionia County.  He also served on the Board 
of Tri-County Electric Co-op for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mamie; one son, Bruce Downing of Portland; one 
daughter, Cleo Piercefield of Portland; one sister, Ilah Johnson of California; 
and six grandchildren.  Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Mapes-Fisher Funeral 
Home in Sunfield.  Burial will be in the East Sebewa Cemetery.
