Ionia County Shopper's Guide, 1 Mar 2001

Bruce William Downing, 77, of Portland, passed away Friday, February 23, 2001, 
at Heartland Healthcare Center in Ionia at the age of 77.  He is survived by 
four children, Vicki (Joe) Bowerman of Portland, Diane (Mike) Black of Lake 
Odessa, James (Nancy) Downing of Portland, and Thomas (Linnea) Downing of 
Portland; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Cleo (Gordon) 
Piercefield of Portland; and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services were 
held at Rosier Funeral Home, Mapes-Fisher Chapel, Sunfield, with Lori Fox 
officiating.
