Barbara F. Downs, 80, of Saranac passed away Friday evening September 12, 2014 
in Saranac under the loving care of her family and Faith Hospice.  Barbara was 
born on November 5, 1933 in Alma, the daughter of Byron L. and Dorothy F. 
(Campbell) Sanders.  She retired from Amway, working in customer service.  She 
enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino, loved spending time with her family 
and was an avid reader. 

Barbara will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is loved and 
survived by her children; Debra L. Downs of Ionia, David and Nancy Downs of 
Saranac, her grandchildren; James ( Heather) Bledsoe, Matthew ( Jen) Bledsoe, 
Erin ( Andy) Paiz, Allison Downs, Lucas ( Randi) Higgins, Andrew Downs, Nathan 
Downs, Daniel Barnick, her great grandchildren; Robert, Brendan and Ashley 
Bledsoe, Bralynn, Emma and Max Bledsoe, Shayla, Simone, Blaze and Bastian 
Downs, Ryan, Sean and Kevin Paiz, two brothers; Lawrence and Sue Sanders and 
Kendall and Peggy Sanders all of Alma. 

Barbara was preceded by her parents, daughter Denise, granddaughter Barbara 
Barnick and a sister Carolyn Johnson. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday September 20, 2014 at Saranac 
Community Church with Pastor Becky Poor officiating.  Committal prayers will 
follow at Saranac Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at 
church.  A luncheon will take place at church following the service at the 
cemetery.  Memorials may be given to the Saranac Library or Faith Hospice.  
Envelopes will be available at the church or Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, 
Belding where funeral care has been entrusted.
