The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, July 11, 1922

Mrs. Jennie Dows was born in the Netherlands October 25, 1840.  She was 
married at the age of 28 to Leonard Dows, also of the Netherlands, who passed 
out July 2, 1918.

Shortly after their marriage they came to this country, locating in Grand 
Rapids nearly 50 years ago.  After residing there for about four years, they 
moved to Ionia, Mich., where she resided up to two years ago.

Five children were born of this union—Jennie, Mollie, Anna, John, and Pearl, 
all of whom survive.  She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of 
Ionia for many years.
