Ionia Sentinel Standard, 29 Sep 1939

William Dowestt, 57, of Ionia died at Traverse City, Thursday, September 28, at 
3 a.m. following an illness of a year.

Mr. Dowsett resided in Ionia for the past 20 years.  He was born in Ontario, 
Can., April 15, 1882, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Dowsett and came to the 
United States at the age of 16.  He served in the United States army for six 
years.

Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Edith Dowsett, and eight children, Johnny, 
William, jr., Kathleen, Lawrence, and Corabelle, at home; Mrs. Juanita 
Chickering, Mrs. Beecher Roberts of Ionia, Charles Dowsett of Belding, and one 
granddaughter, Carroll Ann Dowsett.

Funeral services will be held at the Free Methodist church of West Lincoln 
avenue Sunday at 2 p.m. with burial in the Easton cemetery.  The body will 
repose at the Myers funeral home until the time of the services.
