The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Saturday, February 26, 1870
Died, on the 18th inst., in the 34th year of his age, James Doyle, a native of 
the town of Carroll, Ireland.

In the midst of life we are in death.—How these word chill the heart, as we 
think how suddenly we may be called hence.  Who would have thought to see our 
lamented friend, James Doyle, in the prime of life, cut down in a moment, when 
everything was so bright in the future before him.  Well may we bow our heads 
and say, “Thy will be done, O Lord.”  Although a comparative stranger in this 
portion of the country, his friends were numerous, among young and old.  
Always with a kind word and a smile for all, his hand ever ready to help the 
needy and his heart to cheer the sorrowful, many will mourn his irreparable 
loss.
