A Sad Death.

Miss Elizabeth Doyle, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Doyle, Sr., died
at the residence of her parents in this city on Friday last, February 3.  A
couple of weeks before her death, Lizzie, as she was familiarly known among her
intimate friends, suffered an attack of la grippe from which she thought she had
entirely recovered so that on Saturday preceding her death she had went to a
friend’s house where afflicted by sickness to assist.  Monday morning she was
taken with a relapse which took the form of spinal meningitis.  Tuesday morning
she lapsed into an unconscious state from which she never roused.

Miss Doyle was born in Ireland, Jan. 16th, 1873,, and had consequently just
passed her 26th birthday.  Her parents came to Michigan in’ 83, and have resided
in Belding six years, Miss Lizzie, however, being in Ionia two years of that
time.  She was blessed with a pleasant, happy disposition which made her company
enjoyed by both old and young.  She had been employed for a few weeks in the
Belding Bros. & Co.’s silk mill, and among the many flowers which covered the
casket at the funeral services was a fine tribute from her associate employees
there.  The funeral was held from the Baptist church, Rev. A.O. Carman
officiating.  Besides her father and mother she leaves three brothers to mourn
her loss, Thomas, Morris and Charles, Jr., the latter employed upon government
work in Florida which takes him from place to place and he was unable to be
located by telegraph.  At their request we extend their thanks to the friends
who rendered kind help during their affliction.
