The Ionia County News, Thursday, January 4, 1940
Mrs. Carrie Doyle, 65, longtime resident of Belding, died at the home of her 
son, Carlton Doyle, near Otsego, late Thursday.  Miss Carrie Carter, daughter 
of Mr. and Mrs. William F. Carter, was born at Maple Rapids, April 23, 1873, 
and came to Belding when a young girl, securing work in Belding Brother silk 
mills where she remained until after her marriage to Tom Doyle, who died about 
one year ago.  She was a member of Doric Chapter, No. 75, Order of Eastern 
Star, and also of the Belding Methodist church.

Funeral services were held at the Fales funeral home Sunday afternoon at 2:00 
o’clock, Rev. William Blanding officiating.  Burial was in River Ridge 
cemetery.  Surviving are: the son, Carlton Doyle; and one granddaughter, Betty 
Doyle.
