The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, October 3, 1974
Jack G. Drake, 72, of rural Stanton died unexpectedly at his home Wednesday.  
A lifelong resident of the Stanton area he was born January 21, 1902 in 
Stanton and was a retired farmer.  April 15, 1926 he was married in Jamestown 
township to Shirley H. Avery and she survives.

Besides the wife he leaves nine daughters, Mrs. Iris Allen of Sidney, Mrs. 
Irene Nemeth of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Geraldine Nemeth of Lansing, Mrs. Dorothy 
Hadley of Edmore, Mrs. Shirley Hinton of Tell City, Indiana, Mrs. Edith 
Clevenger of Stanton, Mrs. Joyce Crystal of Ionia, Mrs. Linda Waldron of 
Kingsford, Mrs. Gala White of Ionia; 32 grandchildren and six great 
grandchildren; brother, Glenn V. Drake of Rockford.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Nevin’s Lake church.  Rev. Audley 
Boeve and Rev. Joseph Nelson will officiate and interment will be at Forest 
Hill cemetery, Stanton.  Visitation hours at the Stebbins-Simpson funeral home 
at Stanton will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.  A memorial has been 
established for the Michigan Heart association or Gideon Bible society.
