He was born on November 11, 1896, the son of E.L. and Elizine Drake, in Waren, Ohio. Drake served in the United States Army during World War I and married Olive Rose in 1920. She preceded him in death in 1976. The Drakes lived in the Lyons area from 1950-1975, when they moved to Portland. Drake retired from the Ionia State Hospital in 1961. He was a member of the United Brethren Church in Lake Odessa. Drake is survived by one son, Dale, of Nashville and one sister, Mrs. Ethel White, of Kinsman, Ohio. Also surviving him are three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 10, at 2 p.m. at the Hull Memorial Chapel in Muir. Burial will be in the Tuttle Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and all day Friday at the chapel.
