Carrol G. Drake, age 80, of Saranac passed away February 21, 2008 in Lansing. 
He was born December 26, 1927 in Penn Twp., Michigan the son of Ward and Vera 
(Curtis) Drake. Carrol married Maybelle (Reiff)Marcellus October 5, 1952. He 
was a member of 1st United Methodist Church of Ionia, Belding V.F.W., Saranac 
American Legion, Royal Arch, Salad’n Shrine of Grand Rapids and a 32nd. degree 
Mason.

Carrol is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Maybelle Drake of Saranac; 
daughters, Julie and Duane Putnam of Mason, Jacque and Gordon Hale of Georgia; 
grandchildren, Donald Hale, Jordon Hale, Jeffrey Hale, Duane Putnam Jr. and 
Hannah Putnam.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers.

A memorial service will be held Monday 11:00 A.M. at 1st United Methodist 
Church in Ionia with Pastor Larry Brown officiating. The family will receive 
friends and relatives Sunday 2-4 at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. In lieu of 
flowers donations may be made to 1st United Methodist Church or Saladin Shrine 
Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
