Mr. Richard Wayne Drent, 46, passed away at his home in Ionia on Sat., Dec. 15, 
2001.  He was born on Oct. 16, 1955, in Muskegon, to Bert and Alice (Euler) 
Drent.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and he was currently employed by 
Meijer, Inc. of Ionia.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene of Ionia; his two sons, Alan and Eric of 
Fort Worth, Texas; his four step-children, Darlene, Sherri, Michelle all of 
Fort Worth, Texas, and Dustin Hurst of Ionia; his father, Bert Drent of Twin 
Lake; one brother, Doug Drent of Fremont; two sisters, Sheila (Jack) Parkton of 
Fort Worth, Texas and Janet (Joe) Dunbar of Holton; his former wife, Romona 
Drent of Fort Worth, Texas; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, great-
nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Drent; his sister, Charlotte 
Cole; and his step-daughter, Carla.

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., 
Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fremont (680 E. Main St.) with Rev. 
Norman Heintz officiating.  There will be no visitation.
