Drew passed away very suddenly at his home here Saturday morning at 2 a.m., after an attack of heart failure. He was ill for only an hour before death. Friday he worked as usual and seemed in good spirits all day and evening. He was an esteemed citizen of this locality for a long time and he will be greatly missed by his friends. OBITUARY On the old Drew farm one mile south east of Clarksville in the year 1854 and on the first day of December, a son was born to Jesse and Fidela Drew and was named William Frederick. For 64 years 7 months and 6 days William Drew lived in this vicinity and last Saturday, June 7, at 2 a.m., he very unexpectedly passed away in his village home. His life was a quiet, peaceful one. He met Velma Headworth in childhood and they became fast friends. This friendship became inseparable and on Nov. 3, 1877, they were married and started housekeeping on the farm two and one-half miles northwest of Clarksville. God blessed their home with a daughter whom they called Edna. For thirty-seven years they lived together on the farm. In the fall of 1916 they moved into Clarksville and lived for a while in a rented house and afterwards purchased the home in which he spent the last year of his life. Mr. Drew was one of a family of nine. He has two brothers, Silas, of Clarksville, and Elva, now in Kansas; one half brother, Earl, who is deceased. Five sisters, three deceased, Mrs. Amanda Morse, Mrs. Hester King and Mrs. Julia Ferny, and two living, Mrs. Fidela Granger and Mrs. Hilda Courter of Saranac. Besides these his departure is mourned by a dearly loved and loving wife, daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bedell, a grandson, Bernice Bedell, and a great number of other relatives and friends. Mr. Drew was a regular attendant at the Congregational church. He was rather reticent in stating his beliefs, but we trust that he died in the faith that gives the assurance of Eternal Life.
