Lowell Ledger, 28 Aug 1941

Silas Drew, son of Jesse and Fidelia Drew, was born Feb. 17, 1861.  He was
married to Miss Elizabeth Headworth and to this union was born one daughter,
Mrs. Carl Roth.

Mr. Drew passed away on August 17 and funeral services were held at the home
west of Clarksville on Tuesday, Aug. 19.

Mr. Drew had been a patient sufferer for many years and death was a welcome
relief for him.  He was a resident of the Clarksville community all his life,
having been born on the same farm at which he passed away.  He was held in
genuine respect by his neighbors and friends who knew him to be a man of
integrity, accommodating and friendly and interested in the welfare of the
community, state and nation.  All have lost a good friend and citizen. 

Surviving are the widow, one daughter, Mrs. Carl Roth, one granddaughter, two
great grand-children and a number of more distant relatives, many friends and
acquaintances.
