The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, November 7, 1983
Elizabeth A. Droste, 83, of 219 N. Heyer Street, Westphalia, died Friday, 
November 4, in the Eaton County Medical Facility.  She was born July 16, 1909 
in Westphalia, the daughter of Christopher and Mary Fernolz Fandel.  Her 
husband, Aloysious, preceded her in death in 1969. 

She was a member of Christian Mothers and Westphalia Senior Citizens.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas and Richard, both of Westphalia; four 
daughters, Mrs. Charles (Georgiana) Clark of Redford; Mrs. Sam (Alice) Donohue 
of Lansing, Mrs. John (Wilma) Schafer and Mrs. James (Patricia) Pung, both of 
Westphalia; 20 grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother, Herman 
Fandel, of Westphalia; and one sister, Mrs. Nora Braun of Fowler.

Rosary services were held Sunday at 3 and 8 p.m. at St. Mary’s Chapel, 
Westphalia.  Funeral mass will be today at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 
Westphalia, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be 
grandsons: Kenneth Clark, Patrick Donohue, Jack Schafer, Daniel Pung, and Todd 
and Tim Droste.  Arrangements have been made by Neller Funeral Home of 
Portland.
