Elizabeth ‘Betty' A. Droste, age 92, of Ionia, passed away on Thursday, 
December 14, 2005. She was born on August 2, 1913 in Ionia, the daughter of 
John and Agnes (Smith) Brown.

Mrs. Droste worked at the Ionia Cafe, Corcoran’s, Hornes and the Scale House.  
Betty was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and a member of the 
Ss. Peter and Paul Altar Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 1989; one brother; two 
sisters.  Surviving are her sons, Thomas (Sharon) Droste of Ionia, Dane 
(Linda) Droste of Ionia and Gregory (Mary) Droste of Ionia; seven 
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; niece, Marilyn Gilbert of Canton.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Melvin Fox, 
Pastor, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 
Ionia. Rite of Committal will take place in the spring at Mt. Olivet Catholic 
Cemetery, Ionia.  The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman 
Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. 
today.  A Prayer Vigil will take place at 8 p.m. today.  For those desiring, 
memorial contributions may be made to the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 
or to its Educational Fund, in memory of Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” A. Droste.
