Donald D. Dryer, 47, of Saranac, passed away Sept. 1, 2002 after a courageous 
battle with cancer.  He was born Aug. 17, 1955 in Lansing, the son of Marvin 
and Shirley Vermillion Dryer.  He was a corrections officer for the State of 
Michigan.  He married Gloria Nason in Tenn. Sept. 25, 1975.

Besides his wife he is survived by four children; Shane Rogers of Gladstone, 
Dustin Dryer of Saranac, Nikki Dryer of Grand Rapids and Shaun (Linda) Lewis of 
Lansing; his father, Marvin (Kathy) Driver of Germfask; his mother Shirley 
(Gorton) Curtis of Baldwin; grandmother Evelyn Smith of Lansing; two brothers, 
Hugh (Diane) Dryer of Lyons, Brian (Rhonda) Dryer of Bath; step-brothers Rick 
(Betsy) Curtis of East Lansing, Mike (Sue) Curtis of Farwell; two sisters, 
Sharlene (Dave) Galdeen of Iron River, Sherrill (Bill) Richardson of 
Diamondale; one step-sister, Linda (Mike) Cornell of Williamston; eight 
grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Dryer was preceded in death by one brother, Dana Dryer.

Funeral services will be held Wed. Sept. 4 at 1 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home 
in Saranac with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.   The family will receive 
friends and relatives Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 8:30 
p.m.
