The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, August 25, 1998

Alice Marie Duell, 74, formerly of Ionia, passed away Sunday, Aug. 23, 1998, 
at Medical City Hospital in Dallas.  She was born April 1, 1924, in Ionia.  
Her special interests included the Texas Epsilon Master Sorority, and she was 
the Past State Commander of the Wives of U.S. Submarine Veterans of WWII.  She 
also was a member of the Circle of Friends at St. Joseph Parish.  She enjoyed 
painting and arts and crafts. 

She was preceded in death by son, Bruce Phillip Duell; mother, Ethel May 
Fitzgerald; and father, John James Fitzgerald.  She is survived by her 
husband, Hollis G. Duell; son, David James Duell; grandsons, Derick Duell and 
Daryl Duell; step-grandsons, Billie and D.J.

The Rosary will be held today at 8 p.m. at Memorial Chapel of Restland Funeral 
Home.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at St. 
Joseph Catholic Church, 600 S. Jupiter Road, Richardson, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Baker, Wylie Davis, J.D. McLemore, Bill Coffey, Les 
Hewett and James Callanhan.  Honorary Pallbearers will include the U.S. 
Submarine Veterans of WWII and their wives.  Entombment will follow at Calvary 
Hill Mausoleum in Dallas.
