Mrs. Duffer had been in poor health for several months following an attack of quinsy which seemed to leave her with heart trouble and other complications. In spite of the poor health she was experiencing, her death came very unexpectedly, causing a sadness over the entire community. Mrs. Duffer was 55 years of age and had lived in Hubbardston the past six years, she and Mr. Duffer moving into town from their farm. Mr. Duffer was employed by the Community Power company. She was affiliated with the Methodist church and the order of Maccabees being a persistent worker and a pleasant associate in both organizations. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Emma Vance, who lives on the old farm, and Miss Margaret Duffer, a teacher in the Carson City school, also two sisters, Mrs. Edith Fisher, of St. Johns, and Mrs. Myrtle Messer of Lyons, and one brother, Charles Howard of Fowler. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
