Mr. Duffey was born March 23, 1930 in Danby Township, a son of Burr and Hazel (Catlin) Duffey. He was a retired carpenter and had served with the Army during the Korean Conflict. His son, Jerry, died in the Vietnam War (1971); his brother, Bernard, died in 2001. Surviving are four children, Debbie (Vernon) Mallory of Levering, Steve Duffey of Charlotte, Laurie (Jeff) Little of Hastings and Anne (Troy) Woodman of Nashville; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and his sister, Maxine (Walter) Brown of Sunfield. Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Barker-Leik Funeral Home, Mulliken, with Rev. Gordon Binns officiating. Interment was in Danby Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeremy Duffey, Trent Mallory, Troy Duffey, Vern Mallory, Jeff Little, Troy Woodman and Gehrig Tomlinson. Memorial donations may be made to Maple Valley Memorial Scholarship Fund.
