Duffey, 83, of 306 East Orchard St., Portland, died June 30 at the Ionia Manor. Born April 13, 1896 in Danby Township, he was the son of Edward Duffey and Emma Satterlee. A retired farmer and employee of the TRW plant in Portland, he and his wife, the former Hazel Catlin, had recently celebrated their 62nd anniversary. A life member of the Mulliken Masonic Lodge No. 412, and also a member of Portland Lodge No. 31, he was a past Master of the Mulliken Masonic Lodge and a member of the Portland Royal Arch No. 39. Survivors include his wife, Hazel; two sons, Bernard of Sunfield and Burwell (Stub) of Charlotte; one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Maxine) Brown of Sunfield; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Arthur (Ruba) Niles of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Funeral services were held today at 11 a.m. from the Neller Funeral Home, Portland, with Pastor Dow Chamberlain of Portland and Rev. John Mase of Sunfield, officiating. Burial was in Danby Cemetery. Masonic services were conducted by Mulliken Lodge No. 412. Pall bearers were Lloyd Bacon, Donald Scott, Louis Millburne, Robert Bacon, Forrest Winters and Thomas Hart.
