Liam James Duffy, 21, of Ionia, passed away July 17, 2004 after a long, brave 
fight with cancer in which he defeated all odds. He was born on August 10, 
1982 in Lansing the son of James and Patricia (Malone) Duffy. Liam graduated 
from Ionia High School in 2001 and enjoyed hunting, fishing and cars. He was a 
member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ionia.

He is survived by his parents; brother, Ruairi Duffy; sister, Moira Duffy; and 
many extended family members in Michigan and Ireland.  The Mass of Christian 
Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Melvin Fox, Pastor, at 11 a.m., Tuesday, 
July 20, 2004 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia. Rite of Committal 
will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Parnell. The family will receive 
friends 2-8:30 p.m., Monday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich 
St., Ionia. The rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. For those wishing 
contributions may be made to Henry Ford Hospital-Hermelyn Brain Cancer Center.
