Duistermars, 69, of 679 Andover St., S.E., Kentwood, a former Portland resident, died at his home Tuesday. Born Aug. 9, 1914, in Sioux Center, Iowa, he was the son of Henry and Gertrude Clavenga Duistermars. He was a retired electrician in the Portland-Ionia area, a veteran of World War II, and a member of Portland American Legion Post 129. Surviving are his wife, Dena; two stepsons, Maynard Rozeboom and Ronald Rozeboom, of Ionia; one step daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Lorraine) Patrick of Manistee; four step grandchildren; and four sisters, Kate Lems of Rock Valley, Iowa; Wilma Franken of Sioux Center, Iowa; Dorothy Coats of Lemars, Iowa; and Henrietta Alons of Hospers, Iowa. Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. from the Neller Funeral Home, Portland, with the Rev. John Medendorp of the Princeton Christian Reformed Church officiating. Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery.
