Dulek, 83, a former Ionia resident, died in Kent community hospital Monday afternoon where he had been a patient the past week. Born in Minnesota, November 25, 1888, he was a son of Frank and Mary Cobus Dulek, and as a youngster moved with his family into Illinois where he spent his early life in the Joliet and Chicago areas. He served with United States forces in France during World War I and on his discharge from service returned to Joliet area where he married Alta Bennett, January 30, 1919, moving to Ionia that same year and making their home later at 413 Center street. She preceded him in death in May 1961. For many years, Mr. Dulek was employed as a plumber in the Ionia area, with Boardmans. He is a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are two sons, Richard of Vickeryville, and Owen of Orleans; a daughter, Mrs. Marvin Corkwell, two step-sons, Ralph Miller, of Orleans, and Joseph Miller in Hawaii. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. John Mays of Valley Park, Mo., and Mrs. Julia Karneboge of Joliet, q8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. One son, Staff Sgt. Lloyd Dulek, was killed in Action during World War II. The body is at Leddick funeral home in Ionia where friends and relatives may call between 7 and 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Services will be at the funeral home at 1 p.m. July 20, the Rev. Msgr. Edward Jaworowicz from SS Peter and Paul Catholic church officiating. Burial will be in Balcom cemetery.
