One of the Good Citizens Reared in Ionia County. Frank Dumon, 67 years old, died at his home in Big Rapids on Tuesday, January 19, from heart failure. Seized with an attack, he was able to walk up stairs to his room, but three minutes later his wife found him dead. Dumon was in his prime the leading attorney of that section. Although a democrat, he was three times elected prosecuting attorney of that county, which is strongly republican. In 1878, he was candidate on the greenback ticket for attorney- general. He was a civil war veteran, serving nearly four years and participated in several of the most notable engagements. At the siege of Atlanta he was wounded severely, from which he never fully recovered. He leaves a widow and two children. Dumon was an Otisco boy, and studied law with Wells & Morse, being a resident of Ionia two years. He was a gallant soldier and a good citizen.
