          NANCY LOUISE DuMOND  1939 - 2017
   Nancy Louise DuMond (Taylor) passed away peacefully at home Sept. 24, 2017, after
a short but 
courageous battle with cancer.
   Nancy was born in Belding on Sept. 16, 1939.  She grew up in Palo and attended
Ionia High School.  She 
married Howard DuMond on March 7, 1987, and they shared more than 30 years of love,
dancing and laughter.  
She enjoyed her flowers and loved being in the sunshine, but her passion was
knitting.  She won numerous 
ribbons for her handiwork at the Ionia Free Fair, and loved to play bingo with her
friends. 
   Surviving is her loving husband; six children, Jodey and Gladys Lafler, Jill
Stigall, Buffie and Kevin Luhring, 
Stacy DuMond, Kim and Joe VanZytveld, and Tanya and Wes Shafer; 17 grandchildren, 16
great-
grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Maribeth and Gerald Fritz, Kathy Hoople,
Michael and Bernita Taylor, 
Cheryl and Dan Yoder, and Paul and Diane Taylor; many nieces and nephews and
cousins.
   She was preceded in death by her son Bret Lafler; parents Morris and Viola
Taylor; sister Patricia Grieves 
and nephew Scott Grieves.
   A memorial luncheon for family and friends will take place at the Log Cabin Inn
Banquet Hall in Muir on 
Sunday, Oct. 1 from 2-5 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations
to hospice.
