Mr. Dumond was the father of Ralph Dumond of Ionia, whose wife received injuries in the auto accident near Green’s church corners Labor day from which she will probably never recover, and Mr. Dumond himself is still suffering from the fractured ribs caused by the accident. Owing to the serious condition of Mrs. Dumond and his illness, Ralph Dumond was unable to attend the funeral services of his father. Harmon Dumond was born in New York in 1862. He lived in Ionia about three years before making his home in Lansing. His wife died several years ago. Besides his son Ralph of Ionia and the daughter, Mrs. Newman, he leaves a son, Royal, of Eagle; a son, Samuel, of Grand Rapids; and daughters, Mrs. E. B. Shelington, of Saginaw, and Mrs. Fred Evans, and Mrs. Roy Evans, both of Grand Rapids.
