She had suffered with this affliction for several years, but of late the attacks had been more frequent and the woman herself realized that the end was close at hand. The fatal attack occurred at about 3:30 a.m. Miss Harriet, a domestic, who was alone with “Miss Joe” at the time, summoned Dr. R.W. Alton over the telephone but before the physician arrived the woman had breathed her last. She was in her 60th year and was born and reared at Sharon Hollow, a little hamlet near Manchester, in Washtenaw county, this state. She had been located in Portland for the past 18 years. Funeral services were held at the residence Tuesday afternoon and burial took place in Portland cemetery.
