Dunham died this morning at his home on Lafayette street, at age of 79 years and 9 months. Deceased has had a checkered career, embracing such adventures as fall to lot of few men. He served 13 years in the regular army, during which time he was in some of the important engagements of the Mexican war. He enlisted in the First Pennsylvania Rifles, and was wounded in the hip, after being in service about a year. He was three times married, his first wife and child being killed by Indians, in New Mexico, in 1849. He had retired from the army and settled on a little farm. One morning he was called to Albuquerque on business, and when he returned the next night he found his cabin in ashes, and wife e and child dead. He summoned the neighbors and pursued the Indians, and succeeded in overtaking and killing many of them.
