Navene was born in Marinette, Wisconsin December 17, 1913 to Ocia (Clark) and John Hogan. She was married to Thomas Gerald Dunigan for 55 years, who preceded her in death in 1992. She lived in Ionia, MI for 50 years, then in Sarasota and Ocala FL before moving to Charlotte five years ago. Navene took great delight in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She worked at the Ionia County Treasurers Office until her retirement. Navene was an avid and talented crafts person. She loved her friends, and they appreciated her charm and graciousness. She enjoyed cards, coke and chocolate. She had a renowned collection of Coca Cola memorabilia. Navine cherished the Papal Blessing received on her 90th birthday. She was an active and devoted member of the Catholic Church. Mrs. Dunigan was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Gerald Dunigan, brothers Gale, Clark and Dennis Hogan and son-in-law Daniel O'Keefe. Navene is survived by her five children: Pat (Robert) Purtill, Sun City, AZ; Roger Dunigan, Traverse City, MI; Konnie O'Keefe, Charlotte, NC; Terry (Mary) Dunigan, Charlotte, NC; Chris (Ray) Pool, Ocala, FL. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will take place Saturday, June 24th at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Ionia.
