The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, March 6, 1928
The funeral services for Sharon W. Dunkel, 22-year-old business man who died 
Friday noon, following a two-week’s illness, were held from the Methodist 
Episcopal church Monday with a large number present.  Rev. W. F. Kendrick was 
in charge of the services, and Mr. Dunkel’s father, Rev. John A. Dunkel, of 
Dayton, O., a Presbyterian minister, gave a brief eulogy.  Mrs. R. A. Colwell, 
Mrs. Thane Benedict, and Mrs. Murl Jennings furnished the music.  The burial 
took place in Highland Park cemetery.  The bearers were Walter Halstead, Percy 
Lockwood, Thomas Satler, Alfred Pierce, Claude Croel, and Roy Denning.
