The Ionia Standard, Friday, October 25, 1918
Mrs. Mary A. Dunning, wife of Fred R. Dunning, 427 Jones street, died at the 
home at 2:00 o’clock Sunday, at the age of 59 years, after an illness of five 
months.  She leaves besides her husband, who is caretaker of the Public 
Library, two daughters, Marion, who has been with her mother, and Mildred, who 
has been teaching at Mancelona.

The funeral will be at 2:00 o’clock Thursday, Rev. R. J. Slee, and Rev. Hoag 
of Grand Rapids officiating.  Owing to the ruling of the State Board of 
Health, the funeral will be private, which will not necessarily exclude the 
most intimate friends of the family, but will serve to prevent the meeting of 
a large number of people, in violation of the closing law.  The interment will 
be in Highland Park.
