Dunning occurred Thursday morning, August 27. Mr. Dunning, who was 77 years old, died of pneumonia. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. J. McCord of Easton and Miss Mildred Dunning of Lake City, and a brother, Mark Dunning, of California. Mr. Dunning formerly took care of the public library in Ionia. The body was brought to the Myers funeral home. Funeral services will be Sunday August 30 at 2 o’clock from the Myers funeral home with interment at Highland Park cemetery. ------------ Funeral services for Fred R. Dunning were held Sunday August 30 at the Myers funeral home with Rev. M.W. Duffey, pastor of the First M.E. church officiating. Interment was at Highland Park cemetery. Bearers were Jacob Moore, Ralph Moore, Lyman Simmons and David McCord. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. John Welch and Mrs. Ed. N. Lowrey. Here to attend the service from away were Mr. and Mrs. L.R. Dunn and family and Miss Margaret Dunn of Muskegon, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lans and Miss Louise Kilbourne of Big Rapids, and Mr. and Mrs. L.W. Moore of Pewamo. Mr. Dunning was born in Springfield, Pa., February 25, 1859. His death occurred August 27, 1936. When he was about twenty years of age he came to Ionia and has resided here most of his life with the exception of a few years. For many years he was connected with the laundry business here first with the Hoag steam laundry and later with the Briggs and Kuntz laundries. Prior to his failing health he was employed by the city as care-taker at the Ionia city library for a number of years. For the past four years he has been unable to work. He was married in 1888 to Mary A. Dunn of Ionia, whose death occurred October 20, 1918. Surviving him are two daughters, Mildred L., a teacher in Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. J. Paul McCord, who resides in Easton, also a brother, Mark, of San Diego, California.
