Dunsmore, Ionia Dairy Owner, Dead Richard Dunsmore, 65, a life-long resident of Ionia county and for many years a dairy farm owner, died suddenly in Los Angeles, California, according to word received by his family in Ionia Wednesday. He died Monday. Mr. Dunsmore and his wife and daughter, Ruth, had left Ionia more than a year ago to live in California where Ruth, a vocal student, was enrolled in a voice school. He had been ill with a heart ailment for a number of years but appeared to be in reasonably good health before his sudden death. Mr. Dunsmore was born in Ionia county July 12, 1874, the son of George and Emily Dunsmore of Ionia. He attended the Steele district school during his boyhood and later entered the Ionia public schools where he attended high school. In 1907 he was married to Rhoda Prescott, also of Ionia, in Ionia. Since his marriage Mr. Dunsmore worked as a farmer and later became employed at the Hayes-Ionia factory. He later owned and operated his dairy farm a half mile north of Ionia on M-14 which is now operated by Mrs. Ariel Dunsmore, his daughter-in-law. Less than two years ago Mr. Dunsmore’s son, George was instantly killed in an auto collision at Berlin Center. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made pending arrival of the body on Saturday. Mrs. Dunsmore and Ruth are enroute to Ionia from California. Surviving besides the widow and daughter Ruth are a son Herbert Dunsmore of Marshall, a daughter Mrs. Raymond Warden of Ronald township and two sisters, Mrs. Love Hines of Tucson, Arizona, and Mrs. Ora Thompson, of Holt. Mr. Dunsmore was a former Elks Lodge member and was a member of the Methodist Church of Ionia.
