The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, April 21, 1947
Mrs. Jessie E. Dunsmore, 77, died at her home at 408 Jones Street early Monday 
morning, April 21, at 3:15 o’clock.  She had been in poor heath for several 
years.  Born in Lyons township April 12, 1870, her parents were Mr. and Mrs. 
Lymann DeLaVergne.  She married Thomas Dunsmore December 31, 1896 and in 
December 1946 they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.  She was a 
member of the Church of Christ.

Surviving her are her husband, Thomas E. Dunsmore; one daughter, Mamie 
Sutherland of Ionia; one son, Charles Dunsmore; a granddaughter, Ann Dunsmore 
of South Bend, Indiana, one sister, Mrs. Anna Stiles of Ionia; and three 
brothers, Clarence DeLaVergne of Portland, Herbert DeLaVergne of Eagle and 
Harry DeLaVergne of Ionia.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. 
from the Stone funeral home.  The Rev. Wayne Davis will officiate at the 
service.  Interment will be in the Highland Park cemetery.
