Dunsmore, 74, of 230 High Street, Ionia, died at her home early Tuesday morning. She was born November 26, 1912 in New Haven Center, the daughter of Roy M. and Mona Morrison Hurd. Sue was graduated from Ionia High School in 1930, and was married to Herbert J. Dunsmore on December 22, 1933 at Ionia. She was a secretary with the former Stafford-Johnson Company, and a legal secretary for the former Eldred- Gemuend law firm. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of the church, and the Ionia County Historical Society. Surviving are her husband, Herbert J.; two sons, David A. Dunsmore of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Roger J. Dunsmore of Missoula, Montana; five grandchildren, one sister, Ruth W. Wortman of Cape Coral, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Nina H. Turk, and one brother, Howard Hurd. Funeral services will be Friday 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, the Rev. Keith Bovee officiating. Burial will be in Easton cemetery. The family will be at the Rich Street chapel of the Montgomery Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorials have been established for the First United Methodist Church and the Ionia County Historical Society, in care of the funeral home. Subsequent Publication – March 21, 1987 Funeral services for Vera M. Dunsmore, 74, of Ionia, were held Friday at 11 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Keith Bovee officiating. Organist was Marilyn Brill. Burial was in Easton Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Ian Dunsmore, Michael Hurd, Jared Allen, Michael Bennett, James Butler, and Ronald Story. Honorary pallbearers were the Rev. Robert Nixon and George Trautman. A luncheon for family and friends was served at the First United Methodist Church.
