Durak, Jr., age 74, of Williamston, passed away Monday, February 20, 2006. He was born March 14, 1931 in Ionia. Mr. Durak had graduated from Aquinas College and served in the U.S. Army in Japan. He had retired from the State of Michigan. Mr. Durak was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Geraldine Holcomb. Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou; daughter, Virginia Williford of Houston, TX; stepdaughters, Carole (David) Stone of California and Sarah (Brad) VanderMeer of Grandville; sons, George (Theresa) Durak III of Traverse City, Eric (Ruth) Durak of California, Gary (Kate) Durak of East Lansing; stepsons, Steve (Pam) Chappell of Williamston, Fred Chappell Jr. of Wyoming, MI; and 12 grandchildren. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 25, at noon at St. Martha Parish, 1100 W. Grand River, Okemos, with the Rev. Jonathan Wehrle officiating. The Rite of Committal will be held at a later date in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Ionia. The family will receive friends at the Gorsline- Runciman Funeral Home, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, on Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the Rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Martha Parish in memory of George J.
