Ionia Sentinel Standard, 14 Mar 1952

Harvey Durfee of Lapeer died at his home Thursday morning, March 13, after a
long illness.  He had been a patient at the University hospital, And Arbor, for
two months shortly before his death.

Head of the chemistry department at Lapeer high school until he was taken ill,
he had been superintendent of schools in Lyons from 1923 until 1928.

He leaves the wife, two sons and a daughter.

Funeral services will be held at Lapeer Sunday at 2 p.m.
