Services Held for Richard Durkee
Funeral services for Richard R.. Durkee, 66, of Freeport were held last Friday,
Sept. 7 at 1:30 at the Beeler Funeral Home at Middleville.  Rev. Harold Price officiated with
burial in the Freeport cemetery.

He passed away at the Barry County Medical Care Facility last Wednesday.

He was born in Woodland July 26, 1907 the son of Fred and Della Mae (Reigler) Durkee
and graduated from Woodland high school in 1925. Mr. Durkee married Gertrude L. Price
March 5, 1934 in Woodland. He had been employed as a machinist at the Hastings
Manufacturing Company for 32 years.

Surviving are his wife, four sons, Gerald and Eldred of Freeport, Fred of Hastings
and Dwayne of Alto; a sister, Mrs. Rolland (Thelma) Valentine of Ann Arbor and a
brother, Keith, of Woodland.
