                              CLAIRE E. DURKEE

LAKE ODESSA-Mrs.Claire E. Durkee, 87, of 5100 Barnum road, Woodland, died Friday 
evening at Provincial house at Hastings where she had been a patient the past 
three years.

Born in Woodland Township March 20, 1887, she was the daughter of Harry E. and 
Cora Hatton Rising. She attended the Lee rural school and graduated from 
Woodland High School.

She had been a member of the Woodland United Methodist church since 1911.

March 20, 1912, she was married to Walter Durkee and lived all her married life 
on a farm in the Woodland area. She spent 23 winters in Florida and one winter 
in the west.Her husband preceded her in death July of 1965.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs.Julia Neubaum of Battle Creek; a grandson and two 
great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel at 
Lake Odessa. Rev. Richard Erickson officiated and interment was at Fuller 
Cemetery, Barry County.
