Ionia County News - Thursday Nov. 30, 1939

Mrs. Lafayette Durkee died at her home in Odessa township on Sunday, November 
12, after several week's illness, at the age of ___ years. She was formerly 
Mrs. Eva Sharp of North Plains township.

She was an active member of the Lakeside Grange and the South Berlin aid 
society.

Surviving are a son and two daughters, Vernon Sharp of Battle Creek, Mrs. Vera 
Dadd of Lyons, Mrs. Ora Belle Martin of Chicago; two step-sons, Rev. Raymond 
Durkee of Williamston and Clarence Durkee of Barryton; four step-daughters, 
Mrs. Lois Leigh of Lansing, Mrs. Alice Beard of Lake Odessa, Mrs. Mildred Bouck 
of Grand Ledge and Mrs. Doris Peart of Traverse City and several grandchildren. 

Funeral services were conducted from the home and interment was at Muir.
