Ionia Sentinel Standard, 20 & 23 Aug 1938

Mrs. C.F. Durkee, 76, died at her home at 206 East Main street Friday evening,
August 19, after an illness of some time.

She is survived by her husband, two adopted daughters, Mrs. Edith Church of
Pontiac, and Miss Wava Durkee of Ionia, and a foster sister, Mrs. Susie Blaurelt
of Coopersville.

Funeral services will be held from the home Monday afternoon, August 22, at 2:30
o’clock with interment in Highland Park cemetery.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, August 22, at 2:30 o’clock for Mrs.
C.F. Durkee, 76, who died at her home at 206 East Main street August 19, after
an illness of some time.  The Rev. George L. Woolcock, pastor of the Ionia
Baptist church, officiated assisted by the Rev. Raymond Durkee of Bell Oak. 
Interment was in Highland Park cemetery in the mausoleum.

Pallbearers were Clyde Stout, Martin D. McNamara, Frank Gazella and Laurence I.
Hale of Ionia and Wayne Sharp and Lawrence Durkee of Lake Odessa.

Those attending the services from away were Mr. and Mrs. Elgie Barnard of Ada,
Mr. and Mrs. William Augst of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Zoa Rathbone of Chicago, Ill.,
Mr. and Mrs. Lester McElmurry, Mrs. Della Hope, Mr. and Mrs. Seth Nelson and
Mrs. Lois Leigh of Lansing; Mrs. Frank Blauveldt of Coopersville, Mrs. Douglas
Bouck of Grand Ledge, Mrs. Lottie Durkee, Mr. and Mrs. L.H. Durkee, Mr. and Mrs.
Wayne Sharp, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Durkee and Daniel Durkee of Lake Odessa; Rev.
and Mrs. Raymond Durkee of Bell Oak, Clarence Durkee of Barryton, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Cook and Mrs. T.O. Daniels of Sebewa, Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Schroeder of Detroit; Mrs. Ernest Moe and Mrs. Arnold Simpson of
Pontiac and Mrs. Mary Hunt of Portland.
