She was born Sept. 26, 1906, in Calumet, the daughter of Anna and James Sandretto. In 1934, she married Purcell Durnell. He preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary in 1969; a brother, Orie in 1977, and a granddaughter, Kathleen Satterlee in 1991. She is survived by her sister, Erma Schulte of Frostproof, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Loretta Durnell of Frostproof, Fla; grandchildren, Michael Durnell of Carson City, Amy Grooters of Belding, Tim and Denise Roundtree of Ionia, Tom and Rayann O’Dell of Stanton; great-grandchildren, Chad Sloan of Georgia, Ryan and Brittany Grooters of Belding, Dakota and Breann O’Dell of Stanton, Jeannie Durnell of Grand Rapids; a great-granddaughter, Camey of Grand Rapids; and many nieces nephews and friends. She enjoyed her church, reading, crafting, gardening and meeting people. She was a loving and caring person who will be missed by everyone who knew her. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a service for Mamie at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Belding at a later date.
