Portland Review, 29 Jan 1981

Sylvester J. Dutcher, 86, of 532 Riverside Drive, Portland, died Jan. 24 at his 
home.  He was born July 12, 1894 the son of William Dutcher and Katherine 
Gross. 

He is survived by his wife, Bernita; one son, William of Portland; and two 
daughters, Mrs. Elinor (Richard) Bigford of Grand Ledge, and Mrs. Marylin 
(Thomas) Balderson of Portland; 12 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Scripture service was held Monday Jan. 26 from the Neller Funeral Home.  
Funeral mass was Tuesday Jan 27 from St. Patrick’s Church with the Rev. Donald 
Weber officiating.  Burial in Portland Cemetery.

He was retired from the Ionia Manufacturing Corporation, a veteran of World War 
I, and a member of the American Legion Post No. 129.
