The Portland Observer, Thursday, December 19, 1940

Mrs. William Dutcher, 70, passed away at home in Neitztown late Monday 
afternoon.  She had suffered several attacks of heart trouble, and failed to 
rally from the one with which she was taken Thursday afternoon.  Her maiden 
name was Katherine Gross and she was the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Michael 
Gross.  Mr. Dutcher passed away several years ago.

She is survived by three children: Sylvester Dutcher, Mrs. Bernard Morse of 
this village, and Thomas Dutcher, at home and five grandchildren.  There is 
also one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Gross of Beal City and three brothers, Peter 
Gross, John Gross, and Anthony Gross, all of Portland.

Funeral services were held at St. Patrick church this (Thursday) morning at 
9:30 with burial in Portland cemetery.  Mrs. Dutcher was a member of the Altar 
society of St. Patrick parish, and members of the organization gathered for a 
prayer service at her late home Wednesday evening.
