The Ionia County News, Thursday, January 4, 1940
Martin Dwyer, son of John and Julia Dwyer, died Tuesday, December 26, 1939 at 
his farm home in North Plains township after a very brief illness of 
pneumonia.  He was 72 years of age, having been born February 16, 1867, and 
has spent his entire life on the same farm.

He was a well known and highly esteemed citizen, obliging and upright in his 
manner of living.  He was a generous and devout member of the St. Johns 
Catholic Church of Hubbardston, a member of the Knights of Columbus and the 
Holy Name Society.  Since the death of his sister, Mary, nearly three years 
ago, his nephew, Earl Dwyer, and family have made their home with him.  He is 
survived by one brother, Jerry, of Carson City, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services took place Saturday December 30 from St. John church, Rev. 
Fr. E. Fox officiating.
