Lloyd “Ike” V. Dye, aged 82, of Ionia, passed away Oct. 9, 2009.  He was born 
June 23, 1927 in Ionia, the son of Van Doren and Francis (Basom) Dye.  Lloyd 
married Ella Mae Kirby Aug. 28, 1947 in Angola, Ind.  She preceded him in death 
Feb. 11, 2008.

He was a past member and president of Ionia County Fishing Hunting Club.  He 
was an avid hunter, fisherman and historian.  He also loved to dance.  Lloyd 
owned and operated Dye Electric in Ionia for many years.  He retired from 
Department of Corrections in 1982.

Lloyd is survived by his children Ronald (Carolyn) Dye of Ionia, Sharon Ward 
(fiancé Doug Ward) of Muir, Robert Dye of Ionia, Deb (Rick) Adams of Ionia and 
Richard (April) Dye of Ionia; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  He 
was preceded in death by 1 brother Royal and 1 grandson Scott.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lake Funeral Home in 
Ionia with Pastor Nancy Patera officiating.  The family will receive friends 
and relatives Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers 
you may make memorial contributions to Ionia County Animal Shelter or the Ionia 
County Hunting and Fishing Club.
