Young today received a letter announcing the death of Bloomfield, U. Dye, well known Ionia boy of the early days who left Ionia for Colorado 25 or 30 years ago with John P. Stevenson. There were five boys in the family of Richard Dye, Ionia pioneer—George the oldest; John, Bloom field, Charles and Jim. Charles is the only one left. Bloomfield lived in Colorado many years then went on to the coast, and the letter to Mrs. Young says he died at San Diego, California. Many of the older residents here remember him well and regard him highly for his good qualities.
