R. Smith, Jr. Mr. Dye left Ionia 30 or more years ago, and has not resided here since. He was born in the Dye home at the corner of Dye street and Washington, and was the last member of the original Dye family to pass away. During his early business life in Ionia he has conducted a “strictly cash grocery” and later was proprietor of the present Hudson house, then a leading Ionia hotel called the Commercial house, and later the Dexter. Mr. Dye leaves a widow and a daughter, his daughter a resident of San Diego, California.
