Dye Funeral To Be Sunday Afternoon Simplicity Will Mark Last Rites at St. Thomas Episcopal Church for Well Known Resident. Simplicity will mark the last tribute to the late Charles R. Dye of 54 Cherry street, who died suddenly Monday morning from heart failure. Funeral services will be held at St. Thomas’ Episcopal church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. The Rev. William G. Studwell will conduct the services. While Mr. Dye was a Shriner and Knight Templar, many members of the order will be in attendance both from Grand Rapids and Battle Creek, but they will not attend in a body or take any part in the services. Mrs. J. C. Hubbard of Lemon Grove, Cal., daughter of the deceased, is expected to arrive here, accompanied by her husband and daughter, Jane, Saturday morning. Word to this effect was received by Harry T. Holladay of Cherry street Monday night. It is not known whether Mr. Hubbard will accompany, as the Hubbards have a chicken ranch which they may have difficulty in leaving. While Mrs. Hubbard wired that funeral services should be held at the church Sunday afternoon, it is not known where interment will be made. Mr. Dye lived in Ionia until about 25 years ago. His father and mother are buried there, and it may be the wish of Mrs. Hubbard that the body be taken there for burial. This will be decided after her arrival in the city. Mr. Dye was one of the most widely known traveling men on this road, and a member of the Untied Commercial Travelers. ------------ Ionia Standard, 17 Apr 1885 C.R. Dye has made an engagement as traveling salesman for John J. Bagley & Co. of Detroit. His territory will be on the line of the D., G. H. & M. and the D., L & N. railroads. He commenced on Monday. Charlie is one of the most popular boys in Ionia and there is no question of his success. But we shall miss him in Ionia.
